Smiles for miles

Lots of new smiling pictures. All you have to do is make faces at him, and he gets super excited.

Playing with the crazy purple thing

This crazy purple thing is the new popular item. He can grab it's skinny legs pretty easily.

Some cute pictures from November

With the holidays and all, we haven't been keeping up. We took a few pictures over the month that I thought I'd post. Oscar still has a tiny bit of baby acne. I decided not to photoshop it out :)

Laying in bed with Mom. I almost didn't post this because I hate the picture of me, but it's too cute:

Flying with babies.... some observations

Oscar and I went to see my mother last week in Springfield, MO.  I thought for sure that the karma police were going to get me for all of those times I had complained about babies on airplanes.  I was quite positive that he was going to be a nightmare and I was going to be horribly embarrassed.  Not only did he not cry at all, he even timed his messy diapers so that I wasn't faced with changing them on the airplane!  What a trooper.

Traveling with a baby was interesting.  I discovered a few things:
1. I've never had people be nicer to me.  Seriously.  Not even when I was huge and pregnant were people this nice.
2. I got more random dirty looks from people than I ever have before.  I guess it balances out the niceness.
3. There's no better way to ensure the person sitting next to you will do their best to find a seat ANYWHERE but next to you.  I've never had a really nasty cold work this well.  I swear on the last flight, the guy next to me was willing to give up his first class seat and sit in coach if he didn't have to sit next to me and Oscar.  The flight was full though, so he had to suffer through Oscar's occasional gassy episodes and me fumbling with our belongings.

The blankie game

Our new favorite thing is the blankie game. Paul throws the blankie over Oscar''s face and he gets super excited and works it down. Along the way, he gets really really happy when the satin edge rubs his mouth. When he's crying, you can do this and 99% of the time, he's completely entertained. Don't worry - we don't throw the blanket over him and leave him alone!

Happy Halloween

These uploaded in a funny order. This is after we got home in the evening. I bundled him up in a scarf because it was the handiest thing I had.

Being a sweet baby before bed.
Getting dressed to go out. We found a baby dragon outfit for him. It wasn't exactly as advertised, but pretty cute. Paul put this hat on his (Paul's) head, and Oscar cracked up.

Sitting on my lap. I threw on some skirts, scarves, and too much jewelry and called it a costume.
For a moment, I considered being a dragon eating gypsy :)
Trick or treating. The profile of the back of his costume was precious.
This is what we did the whole time we were trick or treating. not to worry, we had older kids with us that were actually *supposed* to be trick or treating.

Contemplative....

He looks so unhappy in these pictures, but I like to think he's just contemplating things :)
